Welcome!

Hello everyone and welcome to Kitchen Favorites from Scratch! In this blog we will be looking at wide variety of cuisines that you can find in many restaurants and can make in your own home. One of the first things to establish is the idea of simplicity. Every food has it's own flavor, consistency and behavior. By understanding this, we are able to take only a few ingredients and create a masterpiece. This blog is not to change the rules of food but, push them. Every recipe that is debuted on this blog is my own and comes from my own creativity. All items served with the focused item are suggested serving options but, not necessary to the main element focused on.

About me...

As most of you can tell from the sidebar, my  name is Kenneth Clements. I live in Buckeye,  AZ and am currently attending the Art Institute of Phoenix for a culinary degree. My passion for cooking began when I was in high school. I began to view cooking not as a chore but, rather an experience, an opportunity for better learning. I started off with simple dishes and not from scratch. I began to take note of the different flavors and aromas that would come from foods and spices. After some time I began to develop my own recipes and flavors. This idea of cooking from scratch is becoming a lost art with the rise in demand for pre made elements and fast food. In this blog I would hope to bring people back to the basics and then take old beaten down recipes and spice them up. If you're ready, so am I. We will be looking at American foods with twists of multicultural flavors. I will also be showing a few peaks at foods I hold near and dear to my heart that will be one day on the menu of my restaurant that will be established in the near future. Excited? I am so make sure to check back frequently to see what new updates we have for you! Remember if it isn't fresh it isn't for you!
